Melissa is more than a Clinical Nutritionist and Health Coach, she is someone who supports, guides, and empowers.
After 10 years in the airline industry, Melissa took a leap of faith and chose to follow her passion with food as medicine in studying Nutritional Medicine.
Her love for food started very young and by the time she reached adolescence, she was very overweight which progressed to her teenage years. She endured immense teasing and being ridiculed by other children which she now looks at as a blessing as this has led her to find her passion in weight loss/management and self- love.
Studying an Advanced Diploma in Nutritional Medicine at AIAS (Australian Institute of Applied Science) then upgrading to a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional Medicine) at Laureate University in Brisbane, was the best decision she has made thus far as it has changed her life in more ways imaginable.
Whilst studying on campus, she worked for 2 years with Weight Watchers as a Wellness Coach running weekly workshops which she loved as she enjoyed helping people change their health and in turn, change their thoughts about themselves.
She personally understands what it is like to have excess weight and how it affects our whole outlook on ourselves and our lives. Beacuse of this, Melissa is empathetic yet will motivate, empower and lead you to better physical health and mental health outcome for yourself.
Another element to Melissa's food as medicine motto is educating and myth busting the purposefully misleading marketing scheme of food labels with Qantas Airways.
Her passions outside her delicious career are hiking, creating and baking healthy treats, a good almond milk flat white (extra hot), strength training, taking her maltese/shitzu pup to the local offleash beach, listening to podcasts of self-development and Nutrition.
Under Melissa's many scopes, she is a Metabolic Balance Coach which she lives and breaths this lifestyle herself. Melissa is passionate about being there for her clients as she acknowledges that accountability is one of the key drivers for her clients reaching incredible results in their weightloss journey which is why she has created a 3 and 6 month transformation program.
Armed with an abundance of food as medicine knowledge and passion, Melissa hopes to change the misleading food marketing standards in which she believes today is one of the biggest reasons our nation is overweight.


Melissa educates her kick sugar workshop to employees of Qantas including National Jet, Jetstar, Qantaslink, Qantas International and Qantas Domestic in a ll ports including Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
"I love to bring excitement and inspire as many people as I can about how important their health is. As a Qantas Nutritionist, I understand the complexities around time zones, meal prepping, eating on the run etc, having been employed with Qantaslink as a flight attendant for 20 years".


My own personalised transformation plan allows me to walk in my clients shoes to really engage in their journey and progress. After 4 months of starting my Metabolic Balance program I had lost weight, gained muscle, my fingernails no longer had ridging and were strong (which means my nutrient deficiencies had improved), I had more energy than ever and felt empowered to make this a way of life.
As you can see in the before photo I was a few kilo's heavier and did not have great muscle mass which meant I did not have the definition I was longing for.
Fast forward 4 months and you can see in the after photo, my weight loss and muscle definition. 💪
I have always attended weight or body pump classes though never really got the definition I thought I would achieve until I changed the foods I ate and got my protein portions right.
Yes, even as a Nutritionist I thought I was eating enough protein and good quality protein until it was revealed to me through my Metabolic Balance plan that I was not eating enough protein and wasn't eating the right protein.
So the moral is, even as a health professional I was not eating the right amount of protein for my build and structure nor the right types.....
